John Morgan Davis (August 9, 1906 - March 8, 1984) was the 22nd Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania from 1959 to 1963.

Early life

Davis was born in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1929 a Bachelor of Science and graduated a Bachelor of Laws from University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1932.

Early career

Following his graduation Davis was in private practice until 1952.

Judgsehip

Davis served as Judge in the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas from 1952 to 1958.

Years in Office

Davis became Commonwealth Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania and served under David L. Lawrence for one term, 1959-1963.

Later Judgeship

Davis received a recess appointment to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania from Lyndon B. Johnson on January 7, 1964, to a seat vacated by Thomas C. Egan, was confirmed later that year, and served until his death.
