John Mann (born May 1961) is a British comedian, writer and columnist.

Early career

After attending Burnt Mill School in Harlow, Mann started performing at the Square in Harlow where he was a sound engineer. His first performance came about when two of the booked acts failed to appear, so he offered to perform instead.

Comedy

Mann appears regularly at most of the UK's top comedy clubs and has performed extensively in clubs and at festivals around the world. He is a popular compere on the UK comedy circuit and appears regularly at Jongleurs clubs nationwide. He has toured with Phill Jupitus and Lenny Henry and has appeared on numerous TV comedy shows. He was first stand-up comedian to act as warm-up for a music show The White Room.

Writing

He has written for Harry Enfield, Paul O'Grady, Gina Yashere and Jasper Carrott, and was a writer for both The 11 O'Clock Show and The Big Breakfast as well as its replacement R.I.S.E. He also has a popular fortnightly column in the local Bishop's Stortford Observer, near his residence, for which he was shortlisted as Columnist of the Year in the 2008 EDF Media Awards.

Radio

Mann is a regular guest on BBC London 94.9 and Essex Radio and was a frequent stand-in presenter on Greater London Radio. He often appeared with Chris Evans on his Saturday morning radio show. He was a writer on The News Huddlines and often appears on BBC local radio around the UK.
