Early History

Gheur was born in Liege, Belgium in 1968. He trained at the Otis Art Institute/Parsons School of Design in California and his early career was in advertising, design, emerging Internet technologies, imaging and photography. Prior to 1999, Gheur worked with Paramount Television as Director of Client Services for Air Creative overseeing all of Paramount Television's marketing creative work in on-air, outdoor, and print medias. As Executive Creative Director of DNA Studio from 1999 until 2004, he was instrumental in collaborating and developing the agency from a small boutique firm to one of the top 50 agencies in the world.

Founding Signature Creative

In 2004, he co-founded Signature Creative after recognizing the need to harness the growing popularity of social media platforms and developing technologies to traditional advertising and branding campaigns. The agency incubates virtual worlds, augmented reality and mobile applications for clients alongside creative branding, design and new media marketing strategies. The agency's clients are regional, national and international, and the agency can integrate design and strategy for online (digital), print, and video with new media and mobile technologies. Originally with a focus on entertainment and youth, the agency now services a broad range of clients that includes, technology, fashion, food, health, lifestyle and non-profit. Notable clients include Qualcomm, Paramount Pictures, Lionsgate, Mattel, Jack Daniel's, PepsiCo, and Disney among others.

Gheur, through Signature Creative, has led development of innovative games, apps, and notable cross-platform marketing campaigns that include Ptch—an app for DreamWorks Animation enabling creation and sharing of short animated clips of photos, videos, music and comments from social networks—which received recognition from PC Magazine; Disney’s The Lone Ranger Social Campaign; and the Paramount Pictures Star Trek Into Darkness App, which uses contextual awareness (geofencing), image recognition and sound recognition to unlock exclusive content and movie tickets.

Gheur also conceived The Sunset Strip Music Festival (SSMF) with the City of West Hollywood in 2007. Signature Creative was SSMF's agency of record through 2013—including logo design, digital, motion, print, and the annually redesigned website from 2007 through 2013
