John Bresee is a Utah-based serial entrepreneur with several startups to his credit, as well as a writer, editor, and entrepreneur coach.

Work in business
He was a co-founder of Backcountry.com, one of the leading outdoor gear retailers. Bresee and Jim Holland sold Backcountry to Liberty Media and John C. Malone in 2007. He is also director of ecommerce for Cellmania, a leader in mobile commerce funded by Motorola. Cellmania was acquired by Blackberry in 2013.
Work as writer and editor
Bresee founded the Wasatch Canyon Reporter, a Wasatch, Utah-based sports newspaper, and is managing editor and editor for Powder magazine. Additionally, his work has appeared in Skiing, Outside Magazine, Newsweek and Gravity.
