Playing career
Edmundson was chosen in the sixth round, 121st overall, of the 2008 WHL Bantam Draft by the Moose Jaw Warriors. In his WHL rookie season, Edmundson played in 71 games for the Warriors. He scored 2 goals and added 18 assists for 20 points while adding on 95 penalty minutes. He later played for the Kamloops Blazers. In March 2013, Edmundson signed an entry-level contract with the Blues. He played the following two seasons for the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate, the Chicago Wolves.
In October 2015, it was announced that Edmundson had made the opening night roster of the St. Louis Blues for the 2015–16 NHL season.
