Greenwood played his junior rugby league for the Saddleworth Rangers club.

In 2014 won the Super League championship with St Helens.

On 20 February 2017, he signed with Australian Rugby League team Gold Coast Titans. In 2018 he will link up with Tim Sheens At Hull Kingston Rovers On a 2 year deal
