Jiya KC Full Filmography

Jiya KC’s acting career spans the years 2013-2019. Though she has not had an acting role since 2019, she remains in the film industry, mainly working with her partner Bhuwan KC.

In 2013, she starred in three movies: Ho Yehi Maya Ho, ATM (Any Time Masti), and Barbaad. 2014 was Jiya KC’s busiest year, featuring in four films: Gigolo, Wrong Way, Bacha Timrai Ho ya Mann, and Rudrakchya. In 2015, her career started losing steam, with Jiya KC only featured in the film Valentine Dhoka. After Valentine Dhoka, Jiya KC took a four-year break from acting but returned in 2019 with a feature on Bacha.

Since 2019, Jiya KC has not had any other roles as an actress, but she has worked as a line producer in Dreams, the directorial debut of Bhuwan KC.

Controversies Surrounding Jiya KC

ATM (Any Time Masti)

Jiya KC became a controversial figure after her second film role in ATM. Before it was even released, ATM was criticized heavily by the Nepalese public due to its vulgar language and provocative, raunchy scenes shown in the trailer. The Nepalese censor board gave the director a warning, commanding him to remove many scenes they deemed inappropriate for the viewing public.

On the day of its release, the Nepalese government banned the film from being shown after the censor board discovered that the full, unedited film was being shown to the public instead of the heavily trimmed-down version that the production crew was ordered to release. The film was rereleased after the controversial scenes were edited out.

After the controversy with ATM, Jiya KC found herself in the spotlight of the Nepalese film industry. She landed another role in Barbaad the same year, and four roles in 2014.

Relationship With Bhuwan KC

Jiya KC also found herself in the center of a torrid affair with then-married actor and director Bhuwan KC. In 2012, Buhwan KC was known to visit the set of ATM to spend time with Jiya. The couple was also spotted dining together in restaurants, and Jiya KC admitted to spending a night over at Bhuwan KC’s house.

In 2013, it was reported that Bhuwan had rejected Jiya’s offer of marriage on Valentine’s Day. This didn’t stop Bhuwan from calling Jiya KC “the most beautiful actress” in the Nepalese film industry. The alleged couple kept insisting that they were only friends, but in 2014, they were reported to be living together in Bhuwan’s home.

Since then, the couple has been seen together in public, notably during the filming of Bhuwan KC’s Dreams, where Jiya KC performed the role of a line producer, and during the screening of Jerryy, a film starring Bhuwan’s son, Anmol KC.
