Career

Lokay began his journalism career as a reporter and editor for Metro Networks in Pittsburgh. While there, he anchored, edited and reported morning news segments for local radio stations.

He spent two years at Syracuse, N.Y-based News 10 Now (now known as YNN Central New York) where he anchored evening newscasts and reported [2].

Lokay returned to Pittsburgh in 2005 as a reporter for KDKA-TV [3], where he served as the station's traffic reporter, transportation reporter, general assignment reporter and as fill-in anchor on several newscasts, including the weekday morning news, weekday evening news, weekend morning news and weekend evening news. During his six-year teunure at KDKA, Lokay also spent time as the station's consumer products reporter, hosting the popular "Does It Really Do That?" segments. In addition to reporting and anchoring, Lokay also hosted or co-hosted a variety of non-news programming at KDKA, including "Pittsburgh Today Live", the "Hines Ward Show," "Steelers Huddle," a New Year's Eve special and the station's annual "FreeCare Fund Telethon." [4]

In addition to on-air reporting, Lokay served as an occasional talk radio host at CBS owned and operated KDKA-AM [5].

His final day at KDKA-TV was Oct. 14, 2011 [6].

Lokay began at WCVB-TV in October 2011, where he serves as a weekday morning general assignment reporter and weekend morning anchor. Jim left WCVB-TV in October 2015.
