Jeton Kelmendi (born 1978 in Peć, SFR Yugoslavia) is an Albanian journalist, poet, translator and political analyst.

Early life and education

Jeton Kelmendi continued his elementary school in his birthplace. Later continued his studies at the University of Pristina and received the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Mass communication. He completed his graduate studies at the Free University of Brussels, Belgium with a concentration in International and Security Studies. He finished his PhD "The role of media in EU political security Issues" and he is a Professor of AAB University in Pristina.
Career

Kelmendi has written poetry, prose, essays and short stories. Kelmendi is also a regular newspaper contributor in Albania and abroad, where he writes about international cultural and political issues.

Jeton Kelmendi is considered by the great Albanian novelist Ismail Kadare –nominated for several years for the Nobel prize-. Jeton Kelmendi has some poems dedicated to important Albanian personalities as Mother Teresa (Living Beyond Herself), and Ibrahim Rugova (The Winter Of Great Despair).
