Jensen Kyra

Early life

Jensen Kyra Dancel Tenoso was born on 29 September 1993 in Manila, Philippines. She has one sister who is 6 years younger than her named, Janine Kris Tenoso. She is also a singer-songwriter who recently was on TV5's Born To Be A Star. She is known to be called Kyra in high school at St. Paul College in Paranaque and in college at San Beda College Alabang where she studied for a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies. She started to learn how to sing when she was 3, but had vocal lessons since she was 6 years old at the Philippine Music Academy in Paranaque for 2 years. At the age of 9, she enrolled in MASHTEB Music Studio and later on transferred to Susana Pichay Music Studio, both located in BF Resort Village, Las Pinas until she was 15 years old. Jensen Kyra is not only a young performer but a young athlete too. She also started learning how to swim at the same age when she was started singing. At 6 years old, she started training in swimming and competed in the southern regionals as part of the Cavite Sealion Swimming Team. At 10 years old, she became part of DALTA swim team and competed in the nationals, Palarong Pambansa.

Career

Jensen Kyra joined numerous singing competitions representing her school since elementary days. One of the most notable singing competitions she joined was the Nationwide Search for PLDT Singing Idol, in which produced Asia's Popstar, Sarah Geronimo. Although joining every year, she only won the title twice in the year 2010 and 2011. Her first TV show guestings were on Master Showman's Walang Tulugan when she was nine, and for first ever TV commercial is sports drink MILO along with other swimmers in her team.

2011

In 2011, she was on TV5's Willing Willie wherein she was the grand winner in the Kantanong Segment. In February of the same year, Coca Cola opened up a pop star search in which she was a semi finalist. In April, she auditioned for GMA7's Protege: The Battle for the Big Break and fell under the mentorship of the legendary Claire Dela Fuente. She was always the Top 1 in Fan Ranking throughout the entire competition but unfortunately, just reached the Final Five. After the competition, she signed a contract with GMA Artist Center that made her a regular artist of the noontime variety show, Party Pilipinas. Also had some other guestings in other TV shows such as comedy show, Bubble Gang, daily morning show, Unang Hirit.

2013

In 2013, she had taken a liking in musical theater. She went to Trumpets Playshop and played Cinderella in their recital, Into The Woods. Then got the role of Wendy of KIDS ACTS Philippines’ Peter Pan staged in Star Theater, Cultural Center of the Philippines. That same year, she did another project with New Life Theatricals and played the role of Mary in a Christmas play entitled, Pregnant With A Promise in which her initial project with the production was ILLUMINATE in 2009 directed by the very notable, Ms. Sweet Tiongson of The Company. Also at that time, she decided to return to finish her studies but as a part-time performer. She now started performing in Movie Stars Cafe and had played lead roles in the various musical plays such as Gia of Madagascar, Queen Elsa of Frozen, Cleopatra of The Mummy Returns, Sandy of Grease, and Bella Swan of Twilight Musical.

2014

In 2014, she was asked to join ABS CBN Showtime's Beauty Pageant "Gandang Babae " and reached until the grand finals. She never really had any interest in pageants but because she wanted to sing, she was challenged to do the competition. In April 2015, she signed a contract with City of Dreams Manila to perform in a group they formed called Dream Sirens. She was grouped with 3 other female solo artists namely Cris Pastor, Jade Ventura and Anaya Go. The show lasted for 6 months. In August, she was part of the roster of artists of a premier club in makati called Alphaland City Club and in November, she performed in a private resort in Quezon, Balesin Island Club. In December, she was part of the show of Asia's Concert King, Martin Nievera in Balesin Island Club.

2016

In January 2016, she was hired by Alphaland Corporation, owners of Balesin, as the Entertainment Director to improve the entertainment.

Humanitarian work and Charity

In the famous Asian reality TV show "Protege" a Philippine overall talent competition airing on GMA Network, Jensen said she wanted to be an Ambassador of Peace. She found her heart in charity when she attended high school in St. Paul College Paranaque wherein outreach is part of their school curricula. Her class goes out to the streets to teach and help the homeless in various ways every week and she said she wanted to do some more things like this. In college, she has been active with the Bedan Relief Operations the organization dedicated for the victims of typhoon, She also took an online course in Philanthropy University a program of the HAAS School of Business of University of California Berkeley. In 2015 until present, she started her own charity work by being actively involved with Virlanie Foundation Philippines, METRO World Child Ministries and the Monaco Charity Film Festival.

Jensen Kyra is a regular performer for one of Japanese gaming mogul Mr Kazuo Okada. Okada Manila, is the Asia's largest integrated Casino resort p.roperty. She also performed during the Launch of miss Universe 2017
