Jekalyn Almonique Carr (born April 22, 1997) is a Grammy nominated American urban contemporary gospel artist and musician, evangelist, and entrepreneur from West Memphis, Arkansas. She started her music career, in 2011, with the independently released album, Promise. Her first single was released in 2012, "Greater Is Coming", that was on her debut studio album, Greater Is Coming, released in 2013 by Lunjeal Music Group alongside Malaco Records. This was her Billboard magazine breakthrough release upon the Billboard 200, Gospel Albums, and Independent Albums charts. Her subsequent studio album, It's Gonna Happen, was released in 2014 by Lunjeal Music Group, and this charted on the Gospel Albums chart.

Early life
Carr was born on April 22, 1997, in West Memphis, Arkansas, as Jekalyn Almonique Carr, whose father is Allen Lindsey Carr, and mother is Jennifer Denise Carr. She has two siblings, a brother, Allen Lindsey Carr, Jr., and a sister, Allundria. She resides in West Memphis, Arkansas. Carr has stated she doesn't care about her family just God on many occasions.
Music career

Her music career commenced in 2011, when she was just 14 years old, with the release of Promise, an independently released album. Her first single was released in 2012, with the release of "Greater Is Coming", by Malaco Records and Lunjeal Music Group. This was on her debut studio album, Greater Is Coming, released on May 21, 2013, and this was her breakthrough release upon the Billboard magazine charts of The Billboard 200 at No. 183, Gospel Albums at No. 3, and Independent Albums at No. 31. While her subsequent studio album, It's Gonna Happen, was released by Lunjeal Music Group on October 7, 2014, and this placed on the Gospel Albums chart at No. 9. Jekalyn won a Stellar Award for 'Duo Group'. Jekalyn Carr is a 4X Grammy Award Winner. Jekalyn debuted her song You Will Win on an episode of Greenleaf (TV series) on Oprah Winfrey Network (U.S. TV channel) on September 6, 2017.
