Jeffrey "Jeff" Bass (born on May 16, 1961 in Shaker Heights, Ohio) is a Grammy- and Oscar-winning music producer from Detroit, best known as one half of the Bass Brothers and for his work with Eminem. Since being signed to a contract at age 19 with Quincy Jones, Bass has recorded, written, and become one of the most sought-after producers in the music industry. A prime mover in establishing the career of Eminem, Jeff’s deft touch influenced the artist’s distinctive sound. He co-wrote the Oscar-winning song, "Lose Yourself", featured in the movie 8 Mile and went on to win numerous Grammy awards for his long-time collaboration with Eminem.

"Lose Yourself," written by BMI affiliates Eminem and Jeff Bass, won the Oscar for Best Original Song at the 75th Academy Awards ceremony in Hollywood. The song was featured in the film 8 Mile, which starred Eminem in his movie debut. Eminem and Bass previously shared a Grammy Award for 1999's Best Rap Album, The Slim Shady LP. Bass was also the speaker in "Public Service Announcement" and "Public Service Announcement 2000" (from The Slim Shady LP and 'The Marshall Mathers LP respectively), two tracks that serve as introductions to the albums they are featured in.
