On 14 May 2016, Hsieh announced during her concert in Taiwan that she will take a break from show biz due to family issues. In the mean time, she'll be taking care of her mother and won't be in Taiwan. In March 2017, Hsieh and her father, entertainer Chu Ke-liang, declared an end to a long-running feud between them both, and that they had apologised to one another but this reunion was very brief as Ke-liang died in May 2017.
