Early life
Born in village Itwan, Bihar, India, Jay lived with his grandparents until moving to Bokaro Steel City, Jharkhand, India with his parent in early 80s.
Jay got into the world of computers in 1997 when his father brought him a computer during his college days. What drew him to computers initially was animations and designing. It was fun working with them and seeing what one could create using those applications. He also taught himself programming languages C, C++, GWBASIC and FoxPro. Very soon he realised that coding is even more fun and started building games and applications. Jay did not pursue formal education after 12 years of schooling other than advanced computing course from Centre for Development of Advanced Computing. He couldn't relate to why to prove those mathematical theorems and physics theories and started his entrepreneurial journey. His parents were supportive of his endeavours from an early age.
Career
Jay started with his own class to teach aspirants of Centre for Development of Advanced Computing's DAC competitive exam. He also did freelancing for Aptech and Pentasoft for short while in Bokaro Steel City before moving to Pune, Maharashtra in year 2002.
In Pune, between 2002–2004 Jay taught students of Centre for Development of Advanced Computing and final year students of Bachelor of Computer Engineering. Jay worked for SunGard between 2004–2008 and helped execute worldwide initiatives. During this period, Jay continued to help Indian engineers through seminars and worldwide engineers through his blog. Microsoft awarded him as Most Valuable Professional (MVP) for his community contributions.
In year, 2012 Jay founded Mundrisoft Technologies and launched the first product SocietyHIVE for local associations to bring togetherness. Getting societies together also enables to help the unprivileged which SocietyHIVE promotes.
