The Indian fashion fraternity considers him as one of the most celebrated names in the industry and he has over 1,00,000 hair styles to his credit.

Jawed’s company Jawed Habib Hair & Beauty Ltd was an early entrant in the segment and now has a presence all over India, making it the largest unisex salon chain in India.

Early life
Jawed is the eldest son of Habib Ahmed and has two younger brothers, Amjad and Parvez, who are also hairstylists.
Jawed Habib’s grandfather Nazir Ahmed was a renowned hair stylist of pre-independent India styling Lord Mountbatten, Jawaharlal Nehru (India’s First Prime Minister) and numerous VIPs. Nazir's son Habib Ahmed traveled to England to learn the art of hair styling and after his studies Habib Ahmed traveled back home to explore the emerging India that was opening up for a fashionable lifestyle. Like his father he continued serving celebrated names such as Mrs. Indira Gandhi (First Female Prime Minister of India) and other renowned personalities.
Habib Ahmed turned entrepreneur with his first establishment at Lodhi Hotel (near Delhi's Oberoi Hotel). Since then, the family has never looked back by contributing extensively to Indian fashion.
Personal life
Jawed is married to Shaheen Akhter and have two children, Sana and Anosh Habib.
Career
Jawed is the Managing Director of his eponymous company and is recognized as an established hair expert. He is a lifetime member of the World Federation of Supreme Hairdressers and is a member of the International Film & Television Club.
He was the brand ambassador for Hindustan Unilever Brand “Sunsilk” from 2000 to 2008. Moreover he was also the official hair stylist for Miss India contestants in 2003.
Javed was appreciated by the Hon’ble Speaker in the Lok Sabha for his excellent entrepreneurial spirit which has transformed hair styling into an art.
He has written a number of books on hair styling including Professional Hairstyling, Hair Care for All Seasons, Hair Color & Style and Hair Tips.
He was showcased by the BBC’s Travel & Living show as one of the world's celebrated hair stylists.
Education
Jawed Habib Akhter has completed a course of instruction in Hair Colouring & Setting and Dressing Out from the Morris School of Hair Design, London. He was awarded with the Academy Diploma Award for successfully completing the Advance Cutting and Technical Course.
He also regularly conducts workshops and seminars to promote hair styling and entrepreneurship.
Achievements
Javed's name is registered in the Limca Book of World Records with a feat of 410 non-stop hair cuts in 25 hours and 42 minutes.
