Early life and education
Canela was born in Miami, Florida, to Cuban parents, Lissette and Heriberto Canela. He has three older siblings including the actor-singer Jencarlos Canela. Canela studied acting at The Lee Strasberg, Theatre & Film Institute in New York City.
