Japan university of economics

Japan University of Economics (日本経済大学, Nihon Keizai Daigaku) abbreviated as Nikkeidai (日経大, Nikkeidai) is a private university in Dazaifu, Fukuoka, Japan. The school was established in 1968 and adopted the present name in 2007, to reflect its nationwide character following the successful establishment of campuses in Kobe and Tokyo (Shibuya).

Contents

It is officially the Fukuoka campus of the Japan University of Economics which is run by the Tsuzuki Integrated Educational Corporation, a major supplier of higher education in Japan. The chancellor of Nikkeidai is the daughter of Yasuhisa Tsuzuki, who had resigned to pursue private interests following allegations of molesting staff that were ultimately unproven in court but damaging to the image of the institution. The university under the leadership of the new chancellor has gone on to become one of the three largest providers in Japan of education to overseas students.

Facilities

Nikkeidai has a large campus including a landscaped park (the English Garden) shared with other schools affiliated with the Tsuzuki Group. For sports there are several large sports halls, tennis courts, a track and a gym.

Students live in one of two dormitories, Oxford House and Cambridge House, named in honor of the famous Oxford and Cambridge universities.

There are buses to transfer students to and from the Cambridge House dormitory and the railway station in Futsukaichi.
