College
He went to Wake Forest in 2006, where he was a starter on the 2007–08 Wake Forest Demon Deacons men's basketball team. He transferred to Virginia Commonwealth University during the 2009–10 season.
Skeen was a part of the Virginia Commonwealth University 2011 men's basketball team that was a cinderella team who made it all the way to the Final Four. That year, Skeen was also selected as a part of the Colonial Athletic Conference All-Tournament Team at the CAA Men's Basketball Tournament.

Skeen played for Sutor Montegranaro in the Italian League, having moved from Maccabi Ashdod B.C. and Ironi Ashkelon of the Israeli Super League and ASVEL Basket in Villeurbanne (Lyon), France during the 2011–12 season.
On October 31, 2016, Skeen was acquired by the Greensboro Swarm of the NBA Development League; however, he was waived by the Swarm on November 6.
On July 26, 2017, Skeen signed a two-year deal with Serbian club Partizan. The next month he arrived in Belgrade and did not pass the medical examinations, so the contract was terminated on August 18, 2017. On September 7, 2017, he signed with the Finnish Korisliiga club Kouvot for the 2017–18 Korisliiga season.
