James Wesley Hendrix (born 1977) is an Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas and is a former nominee to be a United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas.

Biography
Hendrix was born in Lubbock, Texas, and graduated from Lubbock High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree, with honors, in 2000 from the University of Chicago, where he was selected as a Student Marshal and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He received a Juris Doctor, with high honors, in 2003 from the University of Texas School of Law. He began his legal career as a law clerk to Judge Patrick Higginbotham of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, from 2003 to 2004. From 2004 to 2007, he was an associate at the law firm of Baker Botts, practicing complex commercial litigation in state and federal Courts. Since 2007, he has served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, serving as Chief of the Appellate Division since 2012. Since 2015, he has also served on the Appellate Chiefs Working Group for the United States Attorney General’s Advisory Committee.
Nomination to district court
On March 15, 2016, President Obama nominated Hendrix to serve as a United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, to the seat vacated by Judge Jorge Antonio Solis, who retired] on May 1, 2016. On September 7, 2016 a hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee was held on his nomination. His nomination expired on January 3, 2017, with the end of the 114th Congress.
