James Paull (1 July 1957 – 29 April 2008) was an Australian musician notable for being the guitarist for the alternative rock band TISM between 1991 and the band's dissolution in 2004. In TISM, he was known as Tokin' Blackman.

History

Paull was born and raised in the Melbourne suburb of Blackburn. He attended Xavier College and started his music career around 1970. In his later high school years, he attended St. Patrick's College in Ballarat and Blackburn High School. After he finished high school, he studied at Melbourne State College and in 1984, he studied in Amsterdam on a scholarship.

In 1991, he joined TISM on a referral from Shane O'Mara. He remained with the group until 2004.

He died of cancer on 29 April 2008. He is survived by his wife Matty and their daughter Ella.
