James K. Min (born June 23, 1971) is an American physician, a Professor of Radiology at Weill Cornell Medical College, and Director of the Dalio Institute of Cardiovascular Imaging at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill-Cornell Medical Center. Prior to this, he held the title of Professor of Medicine at both Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA and David Geffen UCLA School of Medicine, Los Angeles, CA. He is an expert in Cardiovascular Imaging and has led numerous multi-center international clinical trials. He has been studying clinical utility and coronary artery diseases for over ten years. During his work at UCLA and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill-Cornell Medical Center, Dr. Min published over 250 papers on Cardiac CT and Coronary Artery Disease.

Education and career

James Min received his Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Chicago, Chicago,Il, in 1992 and his Doctor of Medicine from Temple University School of Medicine in 1999. He completed his residency in medicine and fellowship in radiology at The University of Chicago Hospitals.

Dr. Min was an Assistant Professor of Medicine and an Assistant Professor of Radiology at Weill Cornell Medical College, New York, NY, from 2005 to 2011. From 2011-2013, Dr. Min held the positions of Associate Professor of Biomedical Sciences, Associate Professor of Imaging (Radiology) and Associate Professor of Medicine and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA. From 2010-2013, he was a Senior Investigator at the Harvard Clinical Research Institute, Boston, MA.

Currently he is working at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill-Cornell Medical Center as Professor of Radiology and the Founder and Director of the Dalio Institute for Cardiovascular Imaging. The Dalio Institute was founded by Dr. Min in order to help prevent and diagnose cardiovascular diseases by using state of the art tools such as MRI, CT, and PET scans. The institute was funded, in part, by a $20 million donation from Ray Dalio, an American businessman and a lifelong trustee of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

One of the most notable trials that Dr. Min has led is the CONFIRM Trial, a large prospective multi-center international database for cardiac CT and includes image data from more than 30,000 patients in over seven countries.

Honors and awards

Dr. Min has been the President of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography from 2011-2012. Currently, he is a fellow at the American College of Cardiology and at the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography. Dr. Min has been a chair member of SCCT Hawaii since 2012 and of the Annual Scientific Sessions, Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography since 2010. He is on the editorial board on numerous journals and organizations including the Journal of the American College of Cardiology Cardiovascular Imaging, Journal of Nuclear Cardiology, Journal of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, Indian Heart Journal, and Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiology. He is also on the medical advisory board for GE Healthcare, Capricor, Arineta, Astra Zeneca, Philips Medical, HeartFlow, and Abbott Vascular.

In 2011 and 2012, Min was a semifinalist for the Most Influential Radiology Researcher by AuntMinnie.com, the winner of the top scoring abstract by American Heart Association Scientific session, and the winner of Abstract of the Year by SCCT. He was also awarded the Bruce B. Learman Clinical Scholars Award in 2008. Min has won numerous other awards by NIH and various medical associations. He is the co- author of a book labeled "Multimodality Imaging for Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement" which was published in October 2013.

In 2006, James Min was seen on The Today Show performing Matt Lauer's cardiac CT angiogrophy and discussing the results and implications of CCTA.
