James Jones is a British documentary filmmaker.

Career

James Jones is an Emmy Award-winning and five-time BAFTA-nominated director. His films are broadcast around the world, primarily on the BBC, Channel 4 and PBS Frontline.

He started directing documentaries in 2011 for Channel 4's Unreported World series. His first television film was Nigeria: Sex, Lies and Black Magic (2011). His film Children of the Gaza War was broadcast on the BBC in July 2015 on the first anniversary of the 2014 Gaza war. His most recent work was the critically acclaimed feature-length documentary "Unarmed Black Male".

His films have won an Emmy, a Royal Television Society, a Grierson, two DuPonts, a Mind Media and a Rory Peck Award, and have been nominated five times at the BAFTAs, and at the One World Media, Ilaria Alpi, Amnesty, and Prix Europa Awards.
