Early life
He was born on October 8, 1954 in Huntington, New York. He graduated from the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University with a BA in International Economics and received a master's degree in Management from Yale University.
Career
He began his career at American Express in 1978, where he worked until 1993. He then worked as general manager of the Consumer Division at IBM and as President of Consumer Services at the Ameritech Corporation.
He began working at Xerox in 1998 and has held positions including head of Xerox's channels group, chief strategy officer and President of Xerox North America (2004-2008).
He sits on the Board of Directors of the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and the Nomura Partners Fund. He sits on the Board of Trustees of the Yale University Center of Customer Insights.
