Etymology

The specific name, garmani, is in honor of American herpetologist Samuel Garman.

Geographic range

A. garmani is native to Jamaica and surrounding islands. It has also been introduced into Florida.

Description

A. garmani grows to an adult size of 25.4–35.6 cm (10.0–14.0 in) in total length (including tail), with a few individuals growing to a total length of 47.5 cm (18.7 in).
