Jalia (Amreli)

Jalia is a small village in the Amreli District of Gujarat, India. It is located 22 kilometers (14 mi) from Amreli. The majority population of the village are Patels

Nearby attractions are Bhurakhiya Hanuman Mandir and Khodiyar Mandir. In Jalia there are two Banks First one is State Bank of India and Second one is Amreli District Central Co-operative Bank. Primary helth centre, School and Highschool is there since long. The nearest access points are Rajkot Airport and Amereli Railway Station.

Since the time of Indian independence, Jalia has been considered the most educated village in India. The main person behind the development of the village is Balubhai Bhatt who is known as Balukaka. Balukaka played a very important role in the independence fight of India and "Khadi" (Hand woven cotton cloth) movement initiated and motivated by Mahatma Gandhi. The village is also known for the proportion of its population in the United States.
