Club career

Jairo started off career in known Brazilian club Botafogo.

He came to Trenčín in winter 2014, and he signed one year contract. Jairo came to Trenčín from Brazilian Madureira. The club started to scout him during Copa Amsterdam, where he was playing in shirt of Botafogo. In the beginning of 2015, he signed 3-years contract with Trenčín. Recently he was shining in 2nd qualifying round of UEFA Champions League against FC Steaua București, when all three goals by Trenčín in a 3-2 away win, were scored after his assists.

On 7 August 2015, PAOK have sealed the transfer of the Brazilian forward Jairo de Macedo da Silva. Jairo will travel to Greece in order to undergo the medical and sign his contract. The 23-year-old forward moved to Trenčín in Slovakia in 2013 and he made 47 appearances scoring 14 goals and providing 13 assists. On 8 August 2015, PAOK announce Jairo signing from Trenčín for a reported fee of €400,000. Jairo put pen to paper on a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee. On 3 December 2015, in a 6-2 away win against Chania for Greek Cup he scored his first goal with the club.

On 8 December 2015, Brazilian winger of PAOK has suffered a calf strain injury, the same with Eyal Golasa, and will return to action after 3–4 weeks. Jairo and Golasa are not the only absences for manager Igor Tudor, who has also the injuries of Ricardo Costa, Miguel Vitor, Stelios Kitsiou and Charis Charisis to deal with. On 10 January 2016, he scored his first goal with the club in a 3-1 home win game against PAS Giannina. On 30 August 2016, he signed a long year season contract with PAS Giannina, on loan from PAOK.

On 8 August 2017, he moved to FC Sheriff.
