Sathish Nageswaran, known by his stage name Jai Akash is a British citizen and Sri Lankan-Indian actor, who mainly acts in Tamil and Telugu films. He has appeared in a few Kannada and Hindi films as well.

Career

Jai Akash began his career with Rojavaanam. His first film in Telugu Anandam was directed by Sreenu Vaitla and produced by Ramoji Rao became super hit and made Akash the heart throb of many Telugu girls. He went on to work in both film industries, in turns: after acting in two Tamil films Roja Koottam and Pengal, he acted in four Telugu films, before he returned to Tamil and played the lead in Inidhu Inidhu Kadhal Inidhu opposite Neha, which was a remake of Anandam also produced by Ramoji Rao. In 2004, he teamed up with Sreenu Vaitla again in Anandamanandamaye. That year, he also starred in six Tamil films, "Ramakrishna"and "Amuthae" directed by the famous directors Ahathian, and Ezhil, "Sev Vale" with Raj kiran, "Kaatrullavarai" directed by Radha Bharadhi, "Guru Deva" a big budget Tamil Telugu bilingual, "Kicha Vaisu 16" with Simran. Even though Jai Akash's handsome looks and acting was well appreciated, none of his Tamil films achieved commercial success. So, Jai Akash returned to Telugu film industry and acted in three super hit films produced by Mega Super Good Films ("Andala Ramudu", "Nava Vasantham", and "Gorintaku").


In 2012, he acted in another big budget love with action Tamil film "Adada Enna Azhahu ". The same film was remade in Telugu as "Aahaa Entha Antham" and as "Tum Ho Sabse Haseena"in Hindi. "Tum Ho Sabse Haseena" was released by Venus and got Jai Akash good recognition in Hindi Film industry. Then, Hindi producers Warriors Clans Pictures made a six languages film with Jai Akash as hero, based on the English film "Burried" and Jaya's Film made a trilingual film in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil called "Amavasai" with Jai Akash in lead role.
In 2016, to help a struggling producer, even though he was not part of the film, Jaiakash bought the distribution rights of a low-budget film called Oruthal. In January 2017, he began work on a film titled Aama Naan Porukkithaan, where he would appear in five different roles Now in Tamil he is acting as hero in "Chennai 2 Bangkok" under Thiagaraj's direction and a trilingual (Tamil, Telugu and Kannada) film named as "Thanayan" in Tamil. In Telugu his next films ready for release are "Donga Prema" and "Janma Janmala Bandham".
Controversy
In 2005, Jai Akash's Guru Deva Tamil film got Jai Akash very good reviews for his acting and the movie was remade in Telugu as "Guru". Jai Akash had a high hope that "Guru" will be become a massive hit. But, the Telugu dubbed version of the film, Guru failed with Muppa Ankanna Rao, the executive producer of the version, failing to promote the film. Rao launched complaint to the police that Akash had hired attackers to threaten him.
In 2009, Jai Akash filed a complaint to the Nadigar Sangam against actress Sunaina following allegations from her which claimed that she was not a part of the intimate scenes in the film, Madan and that Jai Akash as director had used a double. Denying such reports, Jai Akash went on to claim that Sunaina was attempting to distance herself from the film.
