Jagvinder Singh Virk (born July 4, 1977) is an educationalist, investor and chairman of the India-Australia Strategic Alliance. He is member of the Liberal Party of Australia. He also contributed to industry sectors that include international education, real estate and medical practice.

Early life and education

Jagvinder Singh Virk was born in Barnala, a city in Punjab, India. Virk completed his Russian Language Studies at Donetsk State Medical University in Ukraine 1995 then pursued Medical Studies (MBBS) from Donetsk State Medical University, Ukraine 2001. He lives with his wife Rattandeep kaur Virk and has two children Ajeshwar Singh Virk and Akam Singh Virk.

Career

Jagvinder Singh Virk started his career as a businessman at his family-owned real estate business. He has served as a member of Western Sydney Community in Australia. Jagvinder worked as a Chairperson of the Australia-India Business council (AIBC). He became Vice Chancellor of Kings International University, Tonga, Oceania. Later he was head in University of New South Wales, New South innovations department.

2006–2007

During this period Virk intricate in leveraging connections in India to help members of the local community to resolve property and other disputes in India.

2007–2008

Jagvinder Singh Virk contributed for Global organization of people of Indian origin (GOPIO) in Australia to help Indian-Australians, share there perspectives and foster closer links with the Global Indian diaspora.

2009–2011

During the period of racial tensions between India and Australia driven by the attacks on Indian students, Virk helped deliberating with the local community and political leader.He worked closely with Mayor of Parramatta Tony Issa now State Member for Granville, Indian Consul General Mr Amit Dasgupta to reiterate commitment multiculturalism in Australia.

2013

Jagvinder Singh Virk established the India Australia Strategic Alliance (IASA) for closer business ties between India and Australia.
