Jacques Deschamps (born 1697, Caux; died 1759, Dangu, Eure) was a French 18th-century academic, theologian and priest.
Deschamps studied at the Sorbonne, receiving a doctorate of the university in 1728; he then served as parish priest of Dangu, in the diocese of Rouen, for 31 years until his death. In 1731, under the pseudonym Morel Deschamps, his Archbishop posted him on a secret mission to London for King Louis XV.
Dr Deschamps is the author of various theological treatises, including a celebrated translation of the Book of Isaiah from Hebrew into French.
