The Company

Jackson Design & Remodeling was founded in 1989 by Todd Jackson. It currently has 37 employees and in 2010 grossed nearly seven million dollars in revenues. The company's sales then grew by 57 percent between 2010 and 2011, while its revenue grew by 37 percent. In 2008 it was the winner of the Contractor of the Year award from the San Diego chapter of the National Association of Remodeling Industries for the work of senior designer Sol Quintana Wagoner. That year the company also opened its current design center. In 2011 the firm was the winner of the first and second place for bathroom remodel of the year awarded by the San Diego Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers.

Design Build

The firm's designs are called upon by San Diego publications in order to show new interior design trends, including the San Diego Union-Tribune. In 2011 the company was a figure in the "mother-in-law suites" trend, which saw rooms in family homes remodeled in order to accommodate aging relatives. They also received the 2011 American Society of Interior Designers Design Excellence Award for its work and promotion of the rustic modern design trend. In 2010 the firm was listed by Qualified Remodeler Magazine as the third largest remodeling firm in the San Diego metropolitan region, while Remodeling Magazine ranked Jackson Design & Remodeling the 44th top full-service remodeling firm in the United States. Then in 2012, Jackson Design & Remodelling was featured on the cover of Professional Remodeler Magazine as one of the twenty top market leaders nationwide. In 2014, the company won the NKBA Magazine Bathroom of the Year award. That year the company was also written about by Dwell Magazine, showing an open floor plan kitchen remodel.

Community

The company has also sponsored not-for-profit events in San Diego, such as the Green Flash Concert Series at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California, San Diego. In 2010 the firm began running an annual awards competition for interior design bloggers as well. The firm has been the recipient of community service awards for these kinds of efforts, including the San Diego Better Business Bureau's 2007, 2009, and 2011 Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics.
