Early life

Hingert was born in London, England and attended Woodcote High School in Coulsdon, London. He moved to Australia as a teenager, settling in Melbourne, Victoria and attended Wesley College in Glen Waverley, Melbourne. Hingert is an ambassador for RSPCA Queensland.

He spent time at the youth academy of Crystal Palace before joining Knox City in the Victorian State League. In 2008 moved to Peterborough United. He returned to Australia in 2009 and played for Dandenong Thunder in the Victorian Premier League.

In July 2009, he joined North Queensland Fury and appeared 11 times over the next two seasons before returning to Dandenong Thunder in 2011 during the A-League off-season. In July 2011, he signed a two-year contract with Brisbane Roar.
