History
JJ "Shiv" Polachek started his musical career in 2008, when Vocalist Jake Rice of Monotheist quit. The band went on hiatus in 2009. At this time Ovid's Withering formed and released their debut Demo.
In 2010, Shiv replaced Kyle Wood of 7 Horns 7 Eyes, when he left to get married. The band recorded his debut album, Throes of Absolution in 2012. He also released Ovid's Withering's debut EP, The Cloud Gatherer. The band stayed quiet for the remainder of 2012, and all 2013.
During this time, Shiv was recording a new EP with Monotheist and a new album for Ovid's Withering titled, Scryers of Ibis. In 2014, Shiv gave info about recording and releasing three new releases, an album and two EPs. Ovid's Withering was due to release a new album in 2015, but the band disbanded.
The members of the band, minus guitarist Aaron Rodiguez, are forming a new project together.
