The Nomads are known for their funky, jazzy and soulful beats and samples produced by group leader J Fizz. With witty street-smart original lyrical content the Nomads put Piedmont, California Hip-Hop on the map.

Biography

J Fizz and the Nomads consist of emcee/producer J Fizz, emcee SB, emcee C-Villain, emcee Maxaroni aka Maximus, and emcee Macenroe. All five of the members attended Piedmont High School and realized they all shared the same passion for hip-hop music. In 2006 J Fizz started producing beats in his home studio and the crew started recording, writing rhymes and making tracks. The group started playing their music at local parties and hustling demos to kids at school for their lunch money. After two years of recording the group released their debut LP "All Up In The Mud". Like their influences/Bay Area legends Hieroglyphics and Mac Dre, The Nomads started selling records independently without a record label or contract but instead on their own label "Laser-Gun Productions". Less than a year later the group followed up the local success of their debut album with their second LP "Strictly Pretty" in 2009.
