James "J. D." Quinn is a former American football guard. He was signed by the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2009, but was later released during training camp. He played college football at Montana.

Early years

Quinn attended Garland High School in Garland, Texas, where he lettered in football, baseball and track.

In football, Quinn was a two-time all-state, all-district and all-city selection as well as an All-American selection a senior. He was also a team captain and recorded 104 pancake blocks his final year.

Oklahoma

After redshirting at the University of Oklahoma in 2004, Quinn started four games for the Sooners as a redshirt freshman in 2005. On August 2, 2006, Quinn was dismissed from the team by OU head coach Bob Stoops. It was reported that he was paid for work at Big Red Sports and Imports, a car dealership owned by a major University of Oklahoma donor, but that he did not complete the work, a violation of NCAA rules.

Montana

Quinn transferred to the University of Montana.

As a junior in 2007, Quinn started five games at right guard and one at center for the Grizzlies, earning first-team All-Big Sky honors as well as honorable mention All-American honors from TSN.

Miami Dolphins

After going undrafted in the 2009 NFL Draft, Quinn attended a Miami Dolphins minicamp on a tryout basis in May 2009. He was waived by the Dolphins on August 2.
