It's JerryTime! is an animated diary of a middle-aged single guy whose life is just a bit harder than it should be. Jerry and Orrin Zucker (no relation to Airplane!) began by amusing friends and each other on the Internet with a series of short, animated films made in Orrin's basement, based on the weird things that befall Jerry. Orrin Zucker, a 20-year veteran of broadcast design, animates and directs the shorts. Jerry Zucker, a comic writer, is the storyteller and composer of the ragtime piano background music.
The first episode - Who's That Guy?! was launched in November 2005, followed by "The Landord" and "Jailtime for Jerry!". Audiences responded immediately to the intimately produced shorts. Since then, the unconventional, animated internet films made mainly by only the two brothers have drawn worldwide attention with an internet audience in the millions.
Four months into the series, the National Television Academy selected their work as one of six nominees for the first Emmy Award for programming produced for broadband entertainment. The no-budget website narrowly lost to the multimillion-dollar production of AOL/Time Warner for Live 8. The Zuckers produced another year of work, which featured advances in animation, storytelling, and ragtime piano, culminating in more highly acclaimed shorts including "The Karate Date", "The Big Time", and "The Naked Swim." It was nominated for a second Emmy Award in 2007 and it won the Emmy in June 2007.
In 2009 the Zucker brothers produced their twentieth episode, "Speed Dating", featuring dialogue between "Jerry" and Kristen Schaal of HBO's Flight of the Conchords.
