Israfil Yilmaz

Israfil Yilmaz (Turkish: Israfil Yılmaz; born in Brunei on September 29, 1987 as Salih Yahya Gazali Yilmaz), also known as the Dutch Jihadist, was first seen (early 2014) on Dutch television (Nieuwsuur) training a small group of foreign fighters. Before his social media accounts were terminated he was very active on Instagram, Ask.fm, Twitter and would often update his Blog on Tumblr (NYTIMES did a report on his Tumblr before it got terminated shortly after) all under the nickname "chechclear" (name of the famous Chechen execution video in which a Russian soldier is brutally beheaded by Chechen bandits). Some fake Facebook and Twitter accounts under his name later emerged but he has repeatedly denied having a Facebook account or having a new Twitter account (after being banned multiple times by Twitter). He was last seen on his Reddit account months ago and hasn't been active on Reddit ever since. From Syrian ancestry he would always refer to himself and his family as Turkish. Having 2 passports (both Turkish and Dutch) Yilmaz first served his Military Service of 15 months in the Turkish Armed Forces (late 2008 till early 2010). After finishing his Military Service in the Turkish Armed Forces he joined the Royal Netherlands Army (late 2010 till late 2011), initially he signed up for the Korps Commando Troepen (Dutch Special Forces) but was eventually turned down due to various shortcomings. He finished his Basic Training and spent a short time with the infantry before eventually abandoning his Dutch Military career late 2011. Before he moved to Syria he worked in a old people's home for a couple of months often lying to his family and friends he was going to move and settle in Turkey (family resident in Adana) later to be found in Syria (late 2012 early 2013) taking part in the Civil war. He joined several factions such as the famous Muhajireen Brigade famously led by Omer al Shishani (famous Chechen field commander who later pledged allegiance to ISIS) he stayed without group for some time eventually joining Jund al Aqsa (designated as a terrorist orgnaistion by the US) before somewhere late 2014 becoming a member of the extremist terrorist orgnaistion the Islamic State (previously known as ISIS/ISIL). On his social media accounts he has defended the attacks carried out by the terrorists extremist organization IS in Paris and other places around the globe, claiming it was never IS who declared open war on the West and it's Allies but the US and it's Allies declaring open war on the so called Islamic State (formerly known as ISIS/ISIL). He also defended the punishment of homosexuals from an Islamic perspective, and sexual slavery in times of war. According to the Turkish press, Yilmaz is one of the most famous ethnic Turkish fighter in IS (ISIS/ISIL) ranks.

He was wounded in Hasakah Province being shot in his hand by a YPG/PKK militia sniper (a female one according to his own statements).

The Netherlands has issued an international warrant for him and considers him as a dangerous terrorist. He is one of the most famous Western Jihadists in IS (ISIS/ISIL) ranks. In 2014, Finnish authorities reported that, according to Chinese authorities reports, Israfil Yilmaz had trained Uyghurs to fight against the People's Liberation Army.

His death being reported multiple times prior, Israfil Yilmaz according to Raqqa is being slaughtered silently and other Syrian related sources, was killed by a Coalition airstrike near the city of Tabqa fighting the US backed YPG/SDF West of Raqqa on the 28th of January 2017.
