Iraj Tanzifi (born 1317) was a scholar and sculptor. After receiving a guidance school degree in line with the preliminary establishment of the college in Gorgan, were enrolled in high school. After two years, received a diploma in teaching. In 1345 he was accepted in the field of sculpture. Went to college and then switched to painting and achieved his optimum. Iraj also taught art with Moallemi. Some examples of his classmates in the university are Yadu'llah Derakhshani, Mohammadhosein Halimi and Jamaluddin Khorraminezhad. Because of his artistic talent, spontaneously taught sculpture. He is the founder of modern sculpture by copper. He has been granted the expression of “Father of modern sculpture in Iran”.

In 1385 he was the guest professor of the artistic town of Paris for three months. In addition to painting and sculpture, he also composed some poems.
