The International Joseph A. Schumpeter Society (ISS) is an economics association aimed at furthering research in the spirit of Joseph Schumpeter.

Founded in Germany in 1986, the Society's founding conference was devoted to evolutionary economics, with special focus on the influence of Schumpeter. Founders included Wolfgang Stolper. Past Presidents include Arnold Heertje (1986-88), Frederic M. Scherer (1988-90), Yuichi Shionoya (1990-92), Ernst Helmstädter (1992-94), Gunnar Eliasson (1994-96), Dennis Mueller (1996-98), Stanley Metcalfe (1998-2000), Bob Lanzilotti (2000-02), Franco Malerba (2002-04), Jena-Luc Gaffard (2004-06), Maria Fonseca (2006-08), Esben-Sloth Anderson (2008-10), John Foster (2010-12), Uwe Cantner (2012-14) . In 1993 the Society adopted the Journal of Evolutionary Economics, founded in 1991, as its house journal.

In cooperation with the German weekly Wirtschaftswoche, the Society awards a Schumpeter Prize.
