The International Community School (ICS) is an international school in Jordan. It is an independent, private and non-profit organisation and is led and managed along the lines of a British school. The Principal oversees a Senior Management Team consisting of the Heads of Primary and Secondary who in turn are supported by a number of deputies and other senior teachers or unit leaders.

History
It opened its doors in 1952 in a building at Marka airport as a primary school established to serve the children of the British Military based in Amman. It relocated to Wasfi Al Tal Street, Khalda to cater for the growing expatriate community in Jordan's capital. The primary school further expanded with the addition of the secondary school in 1999. In September 2009 the school moved to purpose built premises in the outskirts of Amman, Um Al Basatin, Naur Area.
Curriculum
The school offers an all-through British based education to children from the age of 3 to 18 delivered by a largely British trained and qualified staff. The curriculum is taught in line with the National Curriculum for England and Wales leading to IGCSEs and GCSEs in Year 10 and 11 through to AS and A levels in Year 13. The school also offers level 2 and 3 BTEC. The school is a member of the British Schools in the Middle East (BSME). ICS delivers a curriculum which concludes with external exams provided by two well established UK examination boards: Edexcel and Cambridge International Examinations (CIE).
A choice of Additional English, Arabic or French is introduced as part of the curriculum from Year 1 onwards. Wherever possible, use is made of the local environment though field trips and outings. Each term a broad range of extra curricular activities is offered to help the students develop a wide range of interests and a healthy zest for life. Parental involvement in the school is encouraged, with a range of activities being arranged for families and staff.
The school follows an English style year (September to July), divided into terms and half terms. Holidays include from the Western Calendar, Jordanian Islamic and Public holidays, and Eastern Orthodox Easter.
Facilities
The premises offer facilities in many specialist areas such as Music, Drama, Science and ICT as well as purpose built facilities for Nursery and Reception aged children and a new Sixth form suite. In addition, laboratories, offices, sport and recreation areas, a multi-purpose hall, a cafeteria, library, and playgrounds are also offered.
Faculty
The teaching staff maintains a balance between local and overseas appointments with the majority being British-trained and qualified.
Students
ICS currently has students from over 50 nationalities between the age range 3-18. The Primary School caters for children from 3–11 years of age and has around 450 children (Jan 2016). There is one Nursery class and then three different l
classes ( C,S and I ) in each yeargroup from fs 1 to Year 6. The Secondary School for students years 7 to 13 has around 250 students (Jan 2016).Houses
