Interfaith Furnishings is a Morris County, New Jersey nonprofit service organization. It represents the effort of ten faith-based communities in Randolph, New Jersey, serving Morris County. The nonprofit provides home furnishings for those in need by accepting furniture donations from the community, and storing them until they are required. The nonprofit operates through volunteerism, donations, and agency support. More than 1,295 families have been provided with donated furniture as of November 2016.

Founding

Originally conceived by Outreach and Service Committee at Resurrection Parish in Randolph, NJ.

First Project

Interfaith Furnishings first ever project was to help furnish the new James Street apartments in New Jersey, established by Homeless Solutions. The apartments were made available to qualified working poor to help people in Morris County who could not find affordable housing. Fifteen families moved in and Interfaith Furnishings provided their furniture, due to a furniture drive held by Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church.

Warehouse Location

Interfaith Furnishings has warehoused its operations at different, temporarily donated locations in Morris County, in the following chronological order: 1. Dover, New Jersey 2. Rockaway, New Jersey 3. Randolph, New Jersey 4. Dover, New Jersey 5. Rockaway, New Jersey

Donation Limitations

Due to the size limitations of most of the apartments or homes of the clients, Interfaith Furnishings limits its donations to furniture of smaller sizes, such as sofas, love seats, chairs, end tables, coffee tables, dinette sets, bedroom sets with single, double or queen size beds, bookcases. The nonprofit does not accept appliances, sofa beds, or clothing.

Fern United Methodist Church, Randolph; Parsippany United Methodist Church, Parsippany; Resurrection Parish, Randolph; Saint Matthew the Apostle Parish, Randolph; and St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, Randolph.
