The Institute of Pharmacology and Structural Biology (IPBS) is a French research institute in Toulouse aiming at characterizing new druggable targets in the fields of cancer research and infectious diseases (tuberculosis). IPBS is part of CNRS and Toulouse University as UMR5089. IPBS is headed by Dr Jean-Philippe Girard, a world-renowned scientist in the fields of cancer research and immunity. Dr Jean-Philippe Girard received numerous prestigious awards such as the Silver Medal from CNRS or the Gallet et Breton price from the French Academy of Medicine. IPBS is located 205 route de Narbonne in Toulouse on a campus shared with a chemistry institute, the "Laboratoire de Chimie de Coordination" (LCC) and part of the Paul Sabatier University. IPBS is part of the Cancéropôle Grand Sud-Ouest, a network of labs working on cancer research, and of the "Fédération de Recherche en Biologie de Toulouse" (FRBT), a scientific network regrouping the main Toulouse research labs in the field of biology.
