Summary

Instalist is an automated gift list creator and gift list publisher. It was developed by Knag Enterprises and is currently available for all iOS devices with version 7.0 and above. Instalist uses the Amazon Product Advertising API to find products to suggest to users. The interface is similar to Tinder, swiping left to dislike an item, and swiping right to like an item. Unlike Tinder, Instalist provides the ability of go back to previous items. There is also a feature to manually add items to your gift list using any valid URL. Once the gift list is established, the user has the option of sending out their gift list via, Facebook Post, Tweet via Twitter, Email, SMS text messaging, or printing. Doing so will create a website showing the gift list with a unique id in the URL address.

Technology

Instalist uses several different programming languages including Objective-C, Python, PHP, MySql, and Bash Scripting. Part of the code for Instalist is available on GitHub, and Knag Enterprises is considering licensing out the technology. Instalist also uses several third party open source libraries its source code.
