Background and development
Shortly after the release of the final single from 9 Lives, "In the End", DeLuna released in January 2009 "Unstoppable" featuring Lil Wayne and produced by RedOne, which was supposed to be the lead single of her second album. However, it was cancelled. In April 2009 DeLuna announced the album's title which is Inside Out. The next month DeLuna released a digital-only promotional single, "Dance Bailalo". Announced for a summer release, the album was pushed back. In April 2010, DeLuna released the official lead single of the album, "Push Push" featuring Akon and produced by Radio. When DeLuna was asked of how the song with Akon came, she said it was an accident. They met at the studio one day, "He said, 'I have something I wanna show you,'" DeLuna said. "He played the beat and I went crazy." DeLuna worked a lot with producer RedOne, who worked with her on her first album, for many songs as "Party O'Clock" or "Rock The House". DeLuna also worked again with Tyrone Edmond who produced songs like "Be There" and "Dancing Tonight". DeLuna also discovered a new producer, Eightysix (Andras Vleminckx), who is a Belgian fan of her. DeLuna said that he came backstage after one of her show, he gave her a CD of beats and she loved it. Eightysix produced few songs on the album like her single "Drop it Low", "One Foot Out Of The Door" and "Be There". DeLuna described the album as "vocally stronger" with the same "electropop sound" coming from her first album.
