Plot Summary

Ingrid Thorburn is a mentally unstable young woman in Pennsylvania who becomes obsessed with Taylor Sloane, a social media "influencer" with a seemingly-perfect life in Los Angeles. When Ingrid decides to drop everything and move to the West Coast to befriend Taylor in real life, her behavior turns unsettling and increasingly dangerous.

Principal photography began on July 11, 2016 in Los Angeles and wrapped August 12, 2016 in Joshua Tree, California.
Release

Ingrid Goes West had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 20, 2017. Shortly after, NEON beat out competitive offers from A24 and Netflix to acquire the North American distribution rights to the film.
