The Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli (also known as IIM T or IIM Trichy) is a public graduate business school located at Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India. Founded in 2011, it is one of the seven Indian Institutes of Management the Indian government had set up during the Eleventh Five-Year Plan and was mentored by IIM Bangalore. It was the 11th IIM to be set up in India. Classes for the first batch began on 15 June 2011.

Former SEBI chairman Meleveetil Damodaran heads the board of governors while former IIM Calcutta Prafulla Agnihotri is the director of IIM Trichy. IIM Trichy has been ranked 14th nationally in the management schools ranking conducted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, under the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).

Campus

The institute is temporarily situated at National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli campus and will be moving to its permanent campus in January 2017.

The Indian Institute of Management, Tiruchirappalli, has acquired 172.27 acres (69.72 ha) of land owned by the Bharathidasan University to construct its permanent campus at Chinna Suriyur. The ₹584 crore (US$87 million) permanent campus consists of world-class hostels for about 1,500 students, quarters for about 300 faculty, a floating library, recreational facilities and a full-fledged Management Development Centre for both the students and the faculty.
The Indian Institute of Management Trichy has set up a satellite centre in Ekkattuthangal in Chennai, and launched a three-year postgraduate executive programme aimed at working professionals.
Academic programs
IIM Trichy offers a two-year full-time residential Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), a two-year Post Graduate Programme in Business Management (PGPBM) for working executives at Chennai campus, and a Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) for doctoral candidates.
Events
IIMT hosts several yearly events. Dhruva is a cultural and management fest held in the second half of the month of October. E-Summit is an entrepreneurial summit held in the month of November. HR Conclave is an academic event focused on Human Resources. Other events include Sanskriti - an annual war of sections, Sangram - an inter-IIM sports meet, and Kurukshetra - an inter-section sports tournament.
