Indian institute of journalism new media
The Indian Institute of Journalism & New Media (IIJNM) is a post-graduate school of journalism located in Bangalore, India. It was founded in 2001 by the BS&G Foundation, a collaboration between The George Foundation and Adi Chunchangiri Maha Samasthana. IIJNM offers diplomas in print, web and TV journalism, with unique curricula developed under the guidance of Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. The dean of the college is Abraham George. IIJNM has been ranked first among Indian journalism colleges.

Tie - ups
IIJNM has recently announced a tie up with United Press International University. UPIU.com will run two online mentoring workshops for IIJNM students in the academic year 2011-12. This program allows for students to engage in an internship-like experience writing local stories for international audiences and getting individual feedback on stories from working journalists.
IIJNM also has an ongoing student exchange program with the City University London.
In the past IIJNM worked with the BBC World Service Trust on their i-learn program for working journalists. IIJNM also conducted a study-abroad globalisation module for students of Development Economics of Earlham College, Indiana.

IIJNM is regularly visited by public figures. Notable guest lecturers from the field of journalism have included Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman, former BBC Delhi bureau chief Mark Tully, Outlook Group editor-in-chief Vinod Mehta, Indian Express editor-in-chief Shekhar Gupta, President of Editors Guild of India and IBN 18 Network editor-in-chief Rajdeep Sardesai, former Deccan Herald editor K. N. Harikumar, multiple award-winning writer and journalist Ramachandra Guha, author and journalist Jeremy Seabrook, former India Today and Outlook editor Aniruddha Bahal, Times of India foreign editor and USA correspondent Chidanand Rajghatta and former journalist and Carnegie Corporation Director of Journalism & Special Initiatives and Strategy Susan King.
Notable guest lecturers from outside the field of journalism have included RTI activist Aruna Roy, Andrew Whitehead and Asghar Ali Engineer, Karnataka Lokayukta Justice N. Santosh Hegde, cricketer Roger Binny and badminton player Prakash Padukone.
Admission
Admission to IIJNM involves completing and submitting the application form available at their website. This is followed by an online test and a personal/telephonic interview. The admission cell works from the first week of May till the first week of July.
