The Independent Schools Golf Association was set up in 2006 in the UK! Mainly to organise a calendar of golf events for private schools in the UK. The association has now become a member of the International Schools Golf Association. The association runs its main knockout competition starting in the September term and running through to Easter. The National finals are held in different parts of the UK each year. The Association also runs the British Schools and Colleges Golf Association, which runs a league open to all schools and colleges in the UK. 2014 sees the inaugural Junior Ladies Open to be held at Sunningdale Ladies in October Over 200 schools take part in their competitions with schools such as Millfield, Wellington College and Loretto School having won their national finals. The Lee Westwood School take part in the British Schools and Colleges Tour along with Denis Pugh's The Golf College. The ISGA runs a number of one day events for Senior Schools and Prep Schools. 2015 included the first Junior Schools League in which over 50 schools took part. The National finals were held at Radley College where St Bees took the title with Merchiston coming second

2017 see the first World Independent Schools Tournament to be held in Dubai

  • The ISGA now also run a league open to all schools and colleges in the UK under the British Schools Golf Association banner
