Imelin Island

Imelin Island (Bulgarian: остров Имелин, ‘Ostrov Imelin’ \'os-trov i-me-'lin) is the northernmost in the group of three rocky islands in Krivina Bay on the west coast of Trinity Island in the Palmer Archipelago, Antarctica. The feature is 600 m long in northeast-southwest direction and 380 m wide.

The island is named after Imelin Cave in Northwestern Bulgaria.

Location

Imelin Island is located at 63°48′13″S 60°47′50.5″W, 1.35 km south-southeast of Lyon Peak and 3.2 km northeast of Romero Point, and is separated from Trinity Island to the north and Dink Island to the south-southwest by 190 m and 120 m wide passages respectively. British mapping in 1978.
