Ilyas Idrisovich Bekbulatov (Russian: Ильяс Идрисович Бекбулатов; born 12 August 1990 in Dagestan) is a Russian of Kumyk heritage freestyle wrestler who won the bronze medalist at the European Feestyle Wrestling Championships 2013. Bronze Medalist European Games 2015. He was the first who beat American undefeated wrestler Brent Metcalf. He is international Master of Sports in Freestyle Wrestling.

Sports biography

Bekbulatov was born in 1990 in the former Soviet Union in the village of Kayakent, Dagestan. He belongs to the Kumyk ethnic group. Bekbulatov former Junior Russian freestyle wrestling champion (2007). Silver medalist Junior European Wrestling Championship (2008). Russian National Student Wrestling Champion (2011). On 8 May 2015 he became Russian freestyle wretling national champion 65 kg, in final match he defeated World Champion Soslan Ramonov. In European Games 2015 he faced Olympic champion Toghrul Asgarov and lost via decision (7-8), but went on to wrestle back and win a bronze medal against Azamat Nurykau of Belarus.
