Districts

The governorate is divided into five districts (manatiq):

  • Arihah
  • Harem
  • Idlib
  • Jisr ash-Shugur
  • Ma'arrat al-Numan
  • These are further divided into sub-districts (nawahi).

    Civil War

As of late February 2016, the governorate is almost entirely under control of the Syrian rebels together with Al-Nusra, bar a small government pocket controlling the towns of Fu'ah and Kafraya just outside Idlib city.
